Denali Adventure DAY 10 SEWARD / TALKEETNA Debark and bid farewell to the Silversea ship as you board the exclusive Grandview Cruise train and enjoy the picturesque views of Alaska. Guests will disembark at the Anchorage Train Station. Light snacks and beverages are available for purchase onboard the train. Upon arrival into Anchorage, enjoy some time for lunch (at your own expense.) After a brief city tour of Anchorage, your journey continues to Talkeetna (approximately 2 hours.) Following check-in, the balance of the day (including all meals) is at your leisure. Later this evening, enjoy a special reception with a local guest speaker about climbing Mt. Denali. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge DAY 11 TALKEETNA / DENALI After breakfast at the hotel, you'll have some time to explore the town town of Talkeetna. Around 11am, meet your Tour Director for a very short transfer via motorcoach to the Talkeetna train depot. Board the World Famous Alaska Railroad for a journey on the Glass Domed Railcars into Denali. Seating is upstairs in the Dome with meals served downstairs in the dining area. Lunch is included on board the train. In the afternoon, visit a local Dog Kennel to learn more about Alaska’s state sport of Dog Mushing and meet the canine athletes. The remainder of your evening is on your own account, including dinner. Overnight at the Grand Denali Lodge at Denali National Park DAY 12 DENALI / FAIRBANKS Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and join with other travelers from around the world on the fully-guided Tundra Wilderness Tour. Please be aware that these tours are offered in conjunction with local native Alaskans and the only type of transportation permitted inside the National Park are often the same school busses that local children use in the rugged winter months. You will get an ongoing informational talk from your driver/guide, along with wildlife spotting and spectacular scenery. Watch for moose between headquarters and Savage Campground and look for caribou anywhere above tree line. If you’re lucky, Mount Denali may make its first appearance around Mile 9. As you ride over high mountain passes you’ll want to keep an eye out for Dall sheep or bears on the mountainsides. Late afternoon, re-board your deluxe motorcoach and depart for the interior city of Fairbanks. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening either at the nearby restaurant or venture off into town. Overnight at the Pikes Waterfront Hotel DAY 13 FAIRBANKS After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a tour of the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks. This morning, enjoy a special stop to visit the Running Reindeer Ranch for a guided walking tour. Walk alongside these loveable creatures before trying your luck at gold panning located in the family owned Gold Daughters camp. While onsite, step back in time for an exclusive look at prehistoric fossils found in the abandoned Gold Fields around Fairbanks. Dinner this evening is at a local restaurant. Overnight at the Pikes Waterfront Hotel DAY 14 FAIRBANKS Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning and some additional time to explore the city. Your Silversea representative will arrange your transfer to Fairbanks airport based on your departing flight time.
