Depart Alice Springs and head west following the MacDonnell Ranges. Along the way visit Simpson’s Gap, Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek Gorge and Serpentine Gorge. Visit Ormiston Gorge and spend some time exploring the permanent waterholes at Glen Helen Gorge, home to many species of animals, including a variety of water birds and fish.

Day 3: Glen Helen to Kings Canyon – 234km

Day 4: Kings Canyon to Ayers Rock (Uluru) – 321km
This morning discover the Kings Canyon Rim Walk – early morning is the best time of day to do this walk, so make an early start. Depart Kings Canyon, travel back along the Luritja Road to the Lasseter Highway and arrive at Uluru. Ayers Rock Resort is at Yulara, situated on the outskirts of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Experience a famous Uluru sunset.

Day 5: Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Uluru is the world’s greatest monolith. The Rock rises 348 metres above a sandy plain covered in desert oak and spinifex. It’s believed that two-thirds of the Rock lies beneath the sand. The colours of the Rock change with sunrise, sunset and the hours of the day. Today explore all that this stunning area has to offer.

Day 6: Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Enjoy more time exploring this amazing area. The car should be returned today by the same time as it was collected on day 1 to avoid any additional charges.
